You start out dead
and get that out of the way. Then you wake up in an old people's home
feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go
collect your pension, and then when you start working, you get a gold
watch and a party on your first day. You work for 40 years until you're
young enough to enjoy your retirement. You party, drink alcohol, and
are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school. You then
go to primary school, you become a kid, you play. You have no
responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born. And then you
spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa like conditions with
central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and
then Voila! You finish off as an orgasm!"

It just makes sense!!!

Saw Velvet Goldmine last night. Had to turn it off. Rubbish

2 of my pet hates in a film are:
1) Films set in non english speaking countries that have never spoken english getting all americanised and speaking english. E.g. Kate Winslett in 'The Reader' saying "Zees is crazy no? Zont speak to me like zat"
2)Films that replace history with fiction and make no qualms about it. E.g. Velvet Goldmine - Instead of talking about Bowie and Roxy Music and The Glitter Band and other ACTUAL glam groups it's the fictional Brian Slade. How can I like a film that does this

Me and The Expert were lucky enough to be asked and this week it's my list. To see what albums inspire my wistful memories and daft anecdotes you'll just have to click here. Next week'll will be Ex's turn to reveal his albums of obsession.
For only the second time ever we did a cover! We had a shot at "Your Woman" by Whitetown. Hopefully you approve when you hear it. The show goes out February 1st at 8pm. We also did versions of Megaphone Man and Keep The Noise Down. Also, just wanna let you know the Spring tour is almost ready to be announced....one or two bits to be tied up but watch the main news page over the next couple days.

MJEX are now on Twitter by the way. Click here

I watched the movie Sideways last night again. It's really funny...I love wine snobs! Paul Giamatti is the man and I love his mate - the guy Thomas Haden Church plays. Was meant to go see The Wrestler but I'm smashed. I'm reading more Kurt Vonnegut. Hocus Pocus is the book. 52 pages in....really good so far. I 've started getting trumpet lessons from one of the guys who played on FTWG, Bill Blackmore. It's not an easy instrument. Really trying to get into a pattern of consistent songwriting again. A few bits are coming together nicely and we're beginning to semi get on the ball with what we wanna do next

The song I am listening to right now is....

TRACK OF THE DAY - JAMES CARR - YOU GOT MY MIND MESSED UP
It was shot in an office and a warehouse owned by Italian hippies. Once again the amazing director Davey Sexton did this one. We reckon it's our best one yet. The shoot was done at the beginning of the month over a Friday evening and Saturday day. All the props you see in the video were just lying around in this warehouse. The minute we saw them we knew they were perfect for the video. Makeup was done by Gemma Horan who is highly highly recommended. The office scenes were shot in an office Davey uses. Mega Mega thanks to Lotus films and all the crew who worked on the video throughout. You did an amazing job with everything. The video should be on Irish tv ovr the coming days and weeks and months. Enjoy the track of the day, mj
